After the first « Reunion Wave Classic » launched in 2009 and a 2nd edition in 2010, we're back on the shores of this beautiful island for another 3rd edition in 2011.
This Wave Invitational project, which concept has been initiated by pro riders Thomas Traversa and JB Caste, is born because many international sailors wished to join on a different format of Wave event on different World Class windsurf spots, but also because there is an existing demand from the public for more videos and pictures of radical and extreme windsurfing action.
We simply want to answer these demands and promote windsurfing through the widest possible broadcast of impressive images, with the best wavesailors in action on the best locations. And this without any competition with an already existing World Tour or any other events. We are just additional also because we have a different vision of windsurfing, especially waveriding!
The Wave Classic is a new format of media event that brings Windsurfing in front pages all over the world. We aim to emphasize the radical show, the team spirit, the ecologic character of this sport and its beauty, and definitely highlight the country that welcomes us, ensuring it and the local partners a wide international media coverage.
Hopefully, the worldclass spots of the island of La Reunion will give their best again this year for another explosive show!
